Happily Ever After

January 25, 2012

Who doesn’t love a good fairy tale? Or more importantly, have a favorite fairy tale character? So when Anne of Flour Box Bakery asked 22 designers to be a part of a virtual collection of cookie designs based on fairy tale characters I was beyond excited. I was not quite sure how to represent the character I chose, Little Bo Peep, beyond the sheep aspect, so I took some time to think about it. And then of course, I started searching for online images for inspiration. One of the first images I found I instantly fell in love with – Bo Peep with her sheep peeking out from under her skirt – my challenge of course to represent this image on a cookie – and even more challenging – to get that idea to actually fit on a cookie. You can see some of my really rough sketches in the gallery of photos. I cannot emphasis enough how much I enjoyed working on this project and seeing the creative and original spin these designers also put on their own fairy tale characters. The collection as a whole is incredible – of course I am biased – but it truly is. See for yourself when you scroll through each of the designers pages below. Individually, the fairy tale sets are works of art – truly!!! Thank you Anne and One Sweet Party- who provided the toppers for the project and which you can see in some of the other designers’ photos – for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful project!
