Christmas Card Cookie

November 27, 2012

I am always such a procrastinator when it comes to designing and creating new designs/cookies for the different holidays. I always have a hundred ideas but not enough time and when I do have time to actually decorate, I can execute just a handful if not less, of what designs are in my head!!! But I feel like a got a head start on some new designs for the Christmas season thanks to an awesome project challenge from Haniela.  She contacted some incredible cookie designers, of which I am humbled to be a part of, for the challenge of making a cookie inspired from a Christmas card!!!  The color scheme of the cards I chose caught my eye one day while shopping at Michael’s. I love to browse the $1 bins and this is where I happened to find some cards way before Christmas. So I was so happy when I had my ideas/plans in mind for the project way before it was due – definitely a first for me – as I mentioned. But I tried some different techniques in trying to execute the texture of knit in my cookie and although I would still like to experiment with other ways to get it to look more like knit, I was pretty pleased with the results that I achieved. I will have a brief and somewhat simple explanation of what I did in a following post so stay tuned.  I hope you enjoy the final product and enjoy looking at the other incredible designs included in this project by some stellar designers!!!! Hope they help you get inspired for Christmas!!!!

Your cross-stitch lettering and snowflake detail is amazing in its detail and intricacy. I think you have accomplished the *knit* look beautifully and I can’t wait to see your tutorial on it. This is one original and fabulous collection.
